Buyer Terms
1. Scope of the Marketplace
- BLT operates as a curated marketplace for brand kits. Designers create and supply brand kits, BLT promotes and showcases them, and Buyers purchase them.
- Purchases currently cover digital brand kits only.
- Brand kits are sold as one-off, exclusive designs. Once purchased, rights are transferred to the Buyer, and the kit will be marked as sold and removed from public sale. BLT will make agreed changes (such as name, colour palette) within one week of purchase.
2. Use of Purchased Brand Kits
- Brand kits are provided for the Buyer’s exclusive use. No resale or redistribution is permitted, whether modified or unmodified.
- Buyers receive full global rights for all uses, excluding unlawful or offensive purposes.
- BLT and the Designer retain the right to showcase the sold brand kit in their portfolio and for marketing purposes.
3. Pricing & Payment
- All prices are in GBP unless otherwise stated.
- Payments are processed via Shopify’s secure checkout system.
- Due to the nature of digital goods, all sales are final. No refunds will be given unless the delivered files differ materially from the description.
4. Delivery & Changes
- BLT will deliver final files within one week of purchase, following agreed changes such as name or colour adjustments.
- Additional services (such as strategy, tone of voice, website design) may be purchased separately.
5. Third-Party Licenses
Some brand kits may reference or display third-party assets such as fonts, stock images, illustrations, mock-ups, or templates (“Third-Party Assets”). Unless explicitly stated otherwise in the product description, these Third-Party Assets are not included in your purchase.
It is the Buyer’s sole responsibility to:
- Identify any Third-Party Assets used in the brand kit (as listed by the Designer).
- Purchase or obtain the appropriate commercial license for such assets directly from the rights holder before using them in any commercial context.
BLT and the Designer make no representation or warranty that Third-Party Assets are licensed for your intended use, and accept no liability for any infringement or misuse arising from your failure to secure appropriate rights.
6. Liability
- BLT is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the purchase or use of brand kits.
- All brand kits are sold “as is” with any customisation as agreed at the point of sale.
7. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Designer Terms
Eligibility and submission
To participate as a designer on BLT, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Fully own the rights to all submitted work
- Agree to these Terms in full
Submitting work
- You may submit self-initiated projects, unused client proposals, or any original brand identities where you hold full intellectual property (IP) rights.
- Submissions are subject to curation. BLT reserves the right to accept or reject submissions based on quality, originality, and market fit.
- By submitting your work, you agree to share assets, detailed information, and working files for BLT team to sell a comprehensive brand, and customise it if needed by the buyer.
- Before submitting your brand, please verify that you follow the right licenses of the items in you brand, especially for fonts, stock imagery and mockups. Share with BLT all the links to the items under license i.e. links to the fonts used (even if open source), stock imagery, mockups, etc
- The work does not infringe on any third-party rights - this includes but is not limited to the use of licensed imagery, mockups, and fonts.
- You have not and will not sell the work elsewhere
- If your brand isn’t chosen, BLT will hold your project for up to a year, and then delete it.
Ownership and Licensing
- Once you upload the design on the platform, you agree to not sell it anywhere else, or to use it for purposes other than promoting the brand.
- Once uploaded you agree BLT to market, share, your designs.
- You own your design up until it is bought on the platform. You can decide to remove your design from the platform at any point. To do so, get in touch with the BLT team.
- Upon sale, you agree to transfer exclusive rights (including IP) to the buyer.
- The original designer retains authorship credit for the core brand design and concept.
- You will retain authorship credits for the core brand design and concept. You may no longer use the brand commercially, though you may showcase it in your portfolio.
- After the sale, you may no longer use the brand commercially, though you may showcase it in your portfolio with attribution to BLT.
- The designer retains the right to display the original, unmodified version of the work in their personal or studio portfolio.
- In cases where Brands Like These provides customisation or adaptation of the original design post-sale, BLT may be credited for adaptation or implementation support.
- You grant BLT the right to display your brand after purchase for marketing and archive purposes.
Pricing and Payout
- Costs are determined by BLT and can be influenced by but not limited to : the extend of the brand (how many assets, etc), features the brand has had in the past, industry, third party costs, etc. We will get in touch with the designer about the cost before launch.
- Designers receive 50% of the Brand kit price, this is the price before any customisation cost.
Brand Kits
Brand Kits must include (unless agreed otherwise in writing):
- Logo (this could include Logotype, Mark, etc)
- Typography Guide (at least one typeface)
- Colour Guide (including HEX, CMYK and Pantone codes)
- Tone of Voice
- You must upload high quality source files in the required formats
- BLT will handle the transfer of files to the buyer
Customisation
- Buyers may request light customisation (e.g. name swaps, color tweaks). Unless agreed to otherwise, BLT will handle these edits and will do our best to keep the essence of your brand.
Marketing/display
- You give BLT the authorisation to share images for marketing purposes to market the platform or the project
- How the project is displayed is under BLT’s discretion but we’re always happy to hear the designers intents.
Removal & Termination
- You may request to remove a brand at any time, unless it is currently under review or in negotiation. To do so, get in touch with hello@brandslikethese.com
- BLT may suspend or remove your account for violations of these Terms or submission of ineligible work.
Liability
- BLT is not liable for how your work is used post-sale.
- You agree to indemnify BLT against any claims arising from your submitted work.
Updates to Terms
We may revise these Terms occasionally. Continued use of the platform implies acceptance of any changes.
